Fatal Accident Attorney

When a person is not careful, their negligence can cause the death of another person. The family of the person killed suffers a loss that is one of the most traumatic events that a family can endure. In the time after a death, the heirs are coping with their loss and do not consider hiring an attorney to protect their rights. That can be a mistake, for the time immediately after the death may be the most important time to gather information that shows what happened. For example, witnesses’ recollections will often be most accurate immediately after the accident, photographs taken at the scene will be particularly powerful, and other evidence that can be gathered at that time might be lost later in time.

The laws governing the time in which a family can bring a wrongful death case vary from state to state. These laws are called statutes of limitation. If a case is not brought within that time period it can never be brought and the family will lose their rights.

The most common reason that my clients have given me for bringing a fatal accident case is because, “we want to prevent this from happening to anyone else”. By showing the person who caused the death exactly what the consequences are of his or her actions, we can hopefully prevent a similar tragedy from occurring in the future.

If you, a friend, or family member needs an experienced trial attorney for a wrongful death case, please contact me. I would love to help.

“What I really liked about JD was he didn’t “juicy” up the case, he was very honest from the get go. I had fired other attorneys who had not been up front with me."

"JD kept me well informed and didn’t do anything without talking to me first. The settlement exceeded my expectations. And I appreciated that JD let me make the decision to settle the case or go to trial."
